Jacob Henry Schiff was born is Frankfurt, Germany. In his childhood Jacob came into a typical middle class family, who were all mostly bankers. When he was just fourteen he was apprenticed at a business firm.Soon after, he migrated to New York to take of his career in banking. Later he was married to Theresa Loeb, on May 6, 1875. After years of hard work Mr. Schiff finally saved enough money to finance things like United States Rubber, Armor, and the telephone and telegraph. As for his relationship with other entrepreneurs he joined with E.H. Harriman to take over the company Union Pacific Railroads. He was also an outstanding member of the American-German banking group that became a necessity after the civil war. He was a huge part of construction in railroads at the turn of the century.
